Use the following tips as a guideline when attending
an interview:

Preparation:
Preparation is the key to a successful interview. Ensure that
before an interview you have read and fully understand the job
description for the position which you are applying for.
Company Background:
Find out as much background information on the company as you
can. Most companies have websites which you can take a look at
or alternatively give the company a call and ask to be sent a
brochure. If you are using an agency ask them for information
on the company.
Know Your CV:
Know your CV and be aware of your skills and experience most relevant
to the position for which you are applying for. You can then emphasise
these during your interview.
Prepare Questions:
Ensure you prepare questions beforehand to ask at the interview.
This includes questions relating to potential prospects within
the company or position, any training opportunities and questions
relating to the actual job description. Try to ask these at an
appropriate point during the interview or at the end.
Dress Appropriately:
Dress appropriately, always look smart and professional.
Arrive on Time:
Always arrive on time for your interview. It may be an idea to
do a trial run of your journey beforehand so that you know exactly
where you are going and how long it will take you to get there.
Greet the Interviewer:
Always greet the person interviewing you with a firm handshake,
look them in the eye and smile. You will appear confident and
approachable.
Team Player:
Try to come across as a team player as this is an important aspect
of most positions today.

If you are unsuccessful do not be despondent. Treat the interview
as an experience which will help you win your next interview.
